Fairfax
County's Transit Development Plan
Fairfax County is developing a comprehensive 10-year plan for
Fairfax Connector and Metrobus service countywide, called the
Transit Development Plan (TDP).
The TDP is
a study designed to blend, coordinate and optimize existing Metrobus
and Fairfax Connector services and recommend service and policy
enhancements and adjustments to more effectively and efficiently
meet the public transportation needs of
Fairfax County residents, employees and visitors. The
purpose of the TDP is to evaluate existing and proposed bus services
in light of changing county demographics and land use to ensure that
limited resources are utilized in the best way possible.
An
important aspect of the study is to obtain input from the public and
business communities as to the types of service that they would like
to see as the County makes changes to the bus service in the County.
To learn
more about the study, please visit
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fcdot/tdp.htm. We strongly
encourage you to submit comments via the comment form on the website
to let the study team know your thoughts and ideas. You are
encouraged to forward the link for this comment opportunity to your
employees, coworkers, and neighbors.
