Guaranteed Ride Home

There are several guaranteed ride home programs operating in the region, each one with different requirements and benefits. The following guaranteed ride home information is on the program offered by TYTRAN. If you have any questions regarding eligibility or benefits of TYTRAN's program, please e-mail us at tytran@aol.com, or call (703) 799-5394 .

The Problem

Have you ever wanted to carpool, vanpool, or take the bus or metro to work, but were hesitant to do so because of the possible need to leave early due to unexpected circumstances? Circumstances such as picking up a sick child from school, illness at work, or last minute overtime? Research has shown that these unexpected circumstances are the greatest barriers commuters face in choosing to rideshare or take transit. As a result, many potential commuters simply don't participate in ridesharing opportunities which means a reduced pool of commuters to form new car and vanpools, and greater congestion for all of us.

The Solution

TYTRAN has eliminated these barriers to ridesharing and taking transit by providing a guaranteed ride home (GRH) in case of emergency to employees of our member companies. If you commute to work by carpool, vanpool, bus, rail, bicycle or walking then you are eligible to participate in this program. Through a partnership with Yellow Cab in Falls Church, TYTRAN is able to provide you with a ride home in an emergency situation. With the guaranteed ride home program, you can begin ridesharing or using transit with the knowledge that if you ever have an emergency you will have access to immediate transportation.

How To Sign Up and Use the GRH Program

You must be registered to participate in the GRH program by contacting the TYTRAN office at (703) 799-5394 or e-mail at tytran@aol.com. You will be placed on the eligibility list and directed to your company representative. When you have an emergency situation, contact your company representative who will contact the cab company, and provide you with the necesary GRH taxi vouchers for payment of your trip costs. You will be responsible for paying for the tip. You must have the taxi driver sign the voucher and return the copy to your company representative in order for the trip costs to be paid. It's that easy!
